Starters

The starter is a high-torque electric motor used to rotate the engine and initiate the combustion cycle. When activated, it engages with the flywheel until the engine turns on its own.

At BORG Automotive Reman, we offer a comprehensive range of starters for the European car park.

Quality You Can Trust

At BORG Automotive Reman, we only remanufacture OE cores, and our starters are remanufactured to meet OE specifications.

Each unit goes through a meticulous process involving disassembly, restoration, replacement of key components, and extensive testing. Spare parts and final units are checked against defined parameters to ensure full compliance with OE standards.

Durability testing includes up to 2,500 cycles, and additional tests cover dust, water, and temperature resistance.

How We Remanufacture Starters

1. Disassembly

The Reman Process

Defective starters undergo a complete disassembly process, and parts that cannot be reconditioned are disposed of.

2. Cleaning

The Reman Process

Following the disassembly of the starters into individual parts, they are given a thorough cleaning with several cleaning treatments, such as hot water and sandblasting, ultrasonic cleaning, etc.

3. Inspection & sorting

The Reman Process

Cleaned components are subject to an intensive inspection to determine if they are in a reusable condition. This is done both visually and with test equipment measuring if the tolerances are within acceptable limits.

4. Reconditioning & replacement

The Reman Process

At this stage, reusable parts are reconditioned, e.g. through galvanising and grinding. Parts that were disposed of in the previous stages are replaced with new ones.

5. Reassembly

The Reman Process

The remanufactured alternators are reassembled.

6. Final testing

The Reman Process

At this stage reusable parts are reconditioned, e.g. through galvanising and grinding of the parts. Parts that in the previous stages have been disposed are replaced with new parts.
