BORG Automotive Reman Receives the German Sustainability Award 2025
BORG Automotive Reman, Europe's leading independent remanufacturer, has won the German Sustainability Award 2025. A jury of experts selected the company as the winner in the “Vehicle Trade and Workshops” category, highlighting its circular business approach. The award ceremony will take place in Düsseldorf in early December.
BORG Automotive Reman had already made it to the finals of the 16th edition of the Sustainability Award in 2023. Two years later, the company has now prevailed against its two strong co-finalists. To do so, like all participants, it had to convince a jury of experts who evaluated the individual profiles based on industry-specific sustainability criteria.
Circular Economy Put into Practice
BORG Automotive Reman's business model is consistently aligned with the concept of the circular economy: For five decades, the company has been remanufacturing used automotive parts – alternators, starters, AC compressors, turbochargers, EGR valves, brake calipers, steering racks, and steering pumps – and distributing them through the automotive parts trade. Many years of expertise, a used parts (“cores”) warehouse with more than one million pieces in continuous stock, and its own research and development center ensure original part quality and high availability.

Saving Raw Materials and Reducing Climate Impact
BORG Automotive Reman extends the life of spare parts by giving them a second chance. Returned used parts (“cores”) are remanufactured so that valuable components and materials can be reused instead of discarded. This reduces the need for raw materials, lowers energy consumption, and on average cuts CO₂e emissions by 60% compared with new production. Production takes place in Europe and Tunisia, ensuring shorter transport routes, a smaller carbon footprint across the supply chain, and greater business resilience.
The German Sustainability Award 2025 is a strong recognition of our efforts and our contribution to advancing responsible mobility. At the same time, this award encourages us to continue strengthening our circular business model and our role as a circular partner in the industry. - Line Meldgaard, Sustainability Manager at BORG Automotive Group

The German Sustainability Award is Europe’s leading award for ecological and social engagement and, according to the organiser, is one of the three most credible competitions of its kind. Sponsored by the Federal Environmental Foundation, it works with the World Wide Fund For Nature (WWF) and the German Chamber of Industry and Commerce (DIHK) as institutional partners and honors pioneering contributions to the transformation to a sustainable future. The award ceremony will take place in early December as part of the #DNP 2025 congress in Düsseldorf.
